What to focus on in Portuguese
Regional rhythm
Brazilian and European Portuguese differ noticeably in rhythm and vowel reduction. Use the matching library instead of blending two reference models.
Nasal vowels
Portuguese uses nasal vowels and diphthongs as part of ordinary words. Listen for the vowel quality without turning every nasal ending into a strong n or m.
Unstressed vowels
Vowels outside the stressed syllable may change or reduce, especially in European Portuguese. Sentence audio shows how much remains audible in natural speech.
Practice library
Choose Brazilian or European Portuguese. Each variety has 300 CEFR-graded sentences, its own native reference voice, and matching pronunciation assessment.

A useful practice routine
- Select Brazil or Portugal first and stay with that model during focused practice.
- Compare nasal and oral vowels at a slow pace before returning to the sentence.
- Copy the unstressed syllables as carefully as the strong syllable; they shape the regional rhythm.
